International News: Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has once again stirred controversy with his provocative remarks against India. While attending the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) summit in Azerbaijan, Sharif accused India of destabilizing regional peace—a claim that has drawn sharp criticism from diplomatic observers. In particular, Sharif referred to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, calling it “unfortunate” but indirectly blaming India for its aftermath.

Sharif Accuses India While Referring to Pahalgam Attack

Speaking at the summit, Shahbaz Sharif alleged that India responded to the Pahalgam terror attack with “unprovoked hostility” towards Pakistan, thereby disturbing the peace in South Asia. Notably, 25 tourists and a local resident were killed in this brutal attack. The terrorist outfit “The Resistance Front,” affiliated with Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility.

In response, India launched “Operation Sindoor,” a decisive military strike that targeted and eliminated several terrorist bases across the border in Pakistan-occupied territories. Tensions between the two nations escalated following this action, yet Sharif attempted to project India’s counterterrorism move as the source of instability—a claim widely seen as misleading given Pakistan’s long-standing record of harboring extremist groups.

Pakistan’s History of Sheltering Terrorists

It is a well-documented fact that Pakistan has provided safe havens to terror outfits such as Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and others. Multiple international intelligence reports have confirmed that these groups receive support from the Pakistani military and its intelligence agencies in the form of training, weapons, and funding.

Incidents like the Pahalgam attack once again expose how terror groups operating from Pakistani soil continue to pose a grave threat to Indian security. Despite this, Sharif’s attempt to deflect blame onto India not only reflects hypocrisy but also reveals Pakistan’s dual-faced approach—where it speaks of peace while nurturing terror.

Sharif's Remarks on Gaza and Israel

In his address, Sharif also condemned Israel’s military actions in Gaza and Iran, calling them “crimes against humanity.” While voicing support for Palestinians, critics have pointed out the contradiction in Pakistan’s stance—a country that itself stands accused of promoting extremist ideologies and allowing terror groups to operate freely.

India’s Response: Firm and Decisive

India, true to its consistent policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism, responded with strength. Through Operation Sindoor, the Indian Armed Forces not only dismantled terror infrastructure but also sent a clear message—that India will defend its sovereignty at any cost.

At the diplomatic level, India condemned Shahbaz Sharif’s remarks. A spokesperson from the Ministry of External Affairs stated that Pakistan’s duplicity on terrorism is well known to the international community. The spokesperson added that such baseless allegations are a reflection of Pakistan’s own frustration and isolation on global platforms.

Pakistan continues double game

Shahbaz Sharif’s latest comments serve no purpose other than to further strain already tense Indo-Pak relations. Blaming India while ignoring Pakistan's role in harboring terrorism reflects a dangerous mindset that remains the biggest obstacle to regional peace. While India continues to uphold peace and diplomacy, it remains unwavering in its stand against terrorism. And as long as Pakistan continues this double game—condemning terror in words while sheltering terrorists in practice—meaningful dialogue will remain a distant hope.
